Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale are in the beautiful Upper Calder Valley and are easy to reach by road and rail. The local countryside abounds in footpaths and bridleways and for cyclists, Cycle Route 66 crosses the area. The picturesque Rochdale Canal flows through Mytholmroyd and canal boats are welcome. Additionally the newly restored tow-path offers easy walking along the whole of its length. Visitors can enjoy local produce sold in local shops and even visit and taste the beer at Cragg Vale’s famous “Little Valley Brewery”.
For those wishing to venture further afield, the attractions of Manchester, Leeds and Bradford are less than an hour away by train and even the coastal resorts of Yorkshire, Lancashire and North Wales are only a “day trip” away.
The central locations of Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale and their closeness to the motorway network make them ideal bases from which to visit the Peak District, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
